My Practice:
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents dealing with OCD and anxiety related disorders; depression, emotional and behavioral dysregulation; grief, loss, and life transitions; and social and relational challenges. I utilize a collaborative, relational, strengths-based approach founded in evidenced based treatment modalities. I value partnership with families, schools, and other providers to work as a team alongside you and your family to help you meet your goals.
I believe that challenging behavior often comes from an absence of understanding and skill, not from a lack of will and determination. While working with me, you can expect that I will meet you where you are at, and we will take things one step at a time. I strongly believe the process is where growth and learning occur. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to help develop your skills to think more flexibly and move more fluidly through the challenges that keep you stuck. I will encourage you to keep the door open to opportunity and change, so you can feel more confident experiencing your emotions in more manageable ways.
My experience:
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Drexel University in 2012 and my Master of Social Work from Boston College in 2016. Most of my career has been focused on working with children and adolescents in hospital levels of care dealing with acute mental health needs. I began my social work career working at McLean-Franciscan Community Based Acute Treatment (CBAT) residential program. During this time I also provided coverage at McLean-Franciscan Child and Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Unit. In these settings I received extensive training in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), de-escalation and crisis response, and trauma informed care. In 2019, I transferred within McLean Hospital to the OCD Institute for Children and Adolescents (OCDI Jr.) residential and partial program where I worked until the Fall of 2023. I received extensive training in exposure and response prevention (ERP), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I am also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and am a certified Structured Interview For Psychosis-Risk Syndromes (SIPS) assessor. In 2020 I opened my private practice to help expand access to community-based care.
